Asparagus
Because - it's like fancy or something...
Time: 45+min
Ingredients:
1 bunch of Asparagus
Olive Oil
Garlic Powder
Onion Powder
Paprika
Chili Powder
Salt
Pepper
Step 4: Flavor
Place the asparagus into a bowl. Drizzle with Olive Oil. Sprinkle a generous amount of Garlic Powder over it (you can't overdo this!). Sprinkle dash of Onion Powder, Paprika, Chili Powder, Salt and Pepper. Mix well (Tossing in bowl works best to coat evenly).
Makes: The amount you provide!
Pairs with: dinner!
Step 3: Get Crackn'
One at a time, hole asparagus ends in each hand and bend. It will naturally break in middle to 2/3 down from tip, keep the portions containing the tips, discard the remainder.
Step 2: Wash
Give the asparagus a cold wash. Set on paper towels to dry, rolling them slightly to get excess moisture off - the dryer, the better the oil and spices can stick.
Step 5: Give it Time
Place in a small baking pan, cook for 30 to 40min (taking out before look too wilted or burnt...I like mine very soft, not restaurant crunchy). Give it a good shake to stir/flip halfway through. Serve immediately when done.
Tip: Asparagus stalks should be about 2 pencils thick. If smaller, cooking time is less and potentially dried out, if too thick then flavor seems to be left out.
Step 1: Preheat
Preheat oven to 420-deg(F).
