Ring of Goodness
So tasty you won't have to worry about leftovers.
Time: 45min-1hr
Makes: 3-8 servings (depending how much each agrees on!)
Step 2: Bacon
Cook the bacon. Save 6 to 8 strips for meal, enjoy the rest immedietly!
Step 4: Mix
Cut the tomatoes into 2 or 3 pieces each. Shred the cheese. Crumble the bacon into bite size bits. Add the tomatoes, cheese and bacon (and optional diced chicken (not reheated) at this step) to the kale mixture. Add the mayo and mustard. Stir well to coat evenly (the little bit of moisture will eventually cover everything).
Step 5: Unroll, place and bake.
In a ring like dish (I used glass Pyrex) spray with cooking spray then layout the crescent rolls with large end of their initial triangle shape in dish, with tip hanging off outside edge of dish (will fold over later). Spoon in mixture on top of crescent roll dough spreading evenly. Fold over the tip of crescent rolls partially covering the mixture. Beat an egg, adding a pinch of water and brush on top of dish. Bake in oven at 375-degF for 20min (or until well golden brown). Tip: This will likely be longer then crescent roll pack calls for...mine said 10min but it takes 20min with filling like this.
Step 6: Enjoy!
Cut and serve immediately.
Pairs with: Just about anything.
Ingredients:
1 pack of bacon
2 cups of Kale
2 green onions
1 TBSP minced garlic
1 cup cherry tomatoes
1 TBSP Mayo
1 TBSP Dijon Mustard
4oz Monterey Jack cheese
1 (8oz) Crescent roll pack
1 egg
(Optional: 1/4 cup of leftover diced chicken)
Step 1: Preheat!
Preheat oven to 375-degF.
Step 3: Shrink the Veggies
Chop / rip 2cups worth of Kale into pieces, leaving out any stems, dump into a large microwave safe bowl. Dice the green onions (just the white and light green portions) and add to bowl along with the minced garlic. Stir well. Microwave for 1.5 to 2 min. Just enough to wilt the Kale really.
